Your Summer Training Survival Guide
Summer’s heating up — and so are your workouts. We've got another week or so in this strength phase and it's getting warm.
At Lift Legion, we’re not slowing down just because the temps are rising. But we are adjusting how we prep for training so we can stay strong, safe, and consistent all season long.
🔄 Adjust the Routine, Not the Goal - Hot Weather Strength Training
Hot weather doesn’t mean skipping strength — it means being smart about how you train in it. Here’s how to prep like a pro:

🕖 1. Train Earlier (Or Smarter)
Morning and mid-morning sessions are cooler and less taxing.
If you’re training later in the day, listen to your body, and stay aware of signs of fatigue or overheating.
💧 2. Hydrate Before You Step In
Don’t wait until you’re already sweating — start hydrating before your workout.
Add electrolytes to your water if you’re training hard or sweating a lot.
👕 3. Dress Light, Stay Dry
Breathable, moisture-wicking gear helps keep your body temperature down.
Bring a towel and a change of shirt — there’s no shame in the summer sweat.
🍌 4. Fuel Properly
Lighter, carb-rich meals before a workout help give you the energy without weighing you down.
Skip heavy meals too close to training time — they’ll only slow you down.
🌬️ 5. Take Advantage of the Gym Setup
We’ve got fans blowing, airflow moving-ish.
If you need to scale intensity or rest a little longer between sets — do it. You’re still making progress.
💥 Show Up, Heat or Not
Summer’s not a reason to skip — it’s a reason to level up. The hard work you put in now pays off when others are hitting reset later.
Stay prepped. Stay hydrated. Stay lifting.
