Legion,
This Monday, May 26th, we take on the Murph Challenge — a workout that’s become part of who we are. I think that Carlo and I have been doing the Murph yearly for about 10 years, it's something that I look forward to every year.
It’s not just another session. Murph is about grit, effort, and honoring those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s a grind, yes, but it’s also a chance to show what you’re made of — and do it surrounded by your community. Here's a few things we've learned about Murph Challenge Preparation from other fitness communities
🧠 If You’re Nervous — That’s Good
Let me say this now: it’s completely normal to feel a little nervous or hesitant heading into Murph. That means you care. That means you're ready to take it seriously. Use that energy to fuel you. We train for this (we've had phases with 30s and 45s rest). Trust your work. You are more ready than you think.
💪 Getting Physically Ready
Over the next few days, take care of yourself:
Get good sleep
Hydrate well
Add in light bodyweight work (push-ups, squats, rows)
If you’ve got a vest and plan to wear it, train in it before Monday
And listen — if you're not a runner, that’s okay. You can:
Walk
Do a run/walk combo
Scale the run to 400m or 800m
It’s about completing it — not racing through it.
🧠 Strategy Tips for Monday
Break it up: 5 pull-ups / 10 push-ups / 15 air squats x 20 rounds works for a reason
Use short rests and breathe with intention
Don’t try something new on Murph day (vests, pacing, gear — stick with what you know)
Keep a steady pace — especially on the runs
🥗 Fuel and Recovery
Eat well this week. Add some carbs the night before. Show up Monday fueled and focused.
After the workout, stretch, eat, and take care of your body. If you’re sore, that’s part of the process — you earned it. Take a day to recover. You deserve that too.
❤️ Final Thought on the Murph Challenge Preparation
This is about more than just strength and fitness. Murph is about pushing ourselves and honoring those who gave everything. It’s also about showing up, enjoying the challenge, and doing it with a room full of people who want the same thing: to be better.
Two sessions only — 8:00–9:00 AM and 9:00–10:00 AM.
Murph and all scaled versions are in Everfit On Demand now. Find the one that fits you — and let’s get after it.
We'll see you Monday.
